Posted on:2019.07.01 18:25

In light of China’s signing of the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters, TianTong’s cross-border dispute resolution team examines the existing regime of recognising and enforcing foreign civil judgements in China.  The article introduces the 34 bilateral treaties that China has entered into concerning recognition and enforcement of foreign civil judgements and summarises past instances where foreign judgements had been enforced based on the treaties or the principle of reciprocity.  Recent updates on Chinese law are also provided.
